As Matres eram figuras mitológicas representadas por três mulheres com um peito nu, anterior aos cultos cristãos na Península Ibérica. Elas são um símbolo da maternidade, razão e segurança. A autora recolheu a tradição cerâmica em Portugal e projectou-a numa representação particular de as Matres.

The Matres were mythological figures depicted by three women with a naked chest, before the Christian cults in the Iberian Peninsula. They are a symbol of motherhood, reason and security. The author collected the ceramic tradition in Portugal and projected it in a depiction of the Matres.
